LIST
Distinctive Comedian to Journey to New York City for Popular
Stand-up Comedy
Competition Reality Show; Nabs Rare, Booked Audition Without
Agent or Manager
(Denver, CO,
February 22, 2010) – California-born and -bred
comedian Michael “Pooch” Puccini will
be at the Gotham Comedy Club in New
York City for the auditions of NBC’s Last Comic Standing 7 on March 14,
2010.
After
submitting a video clip of a popular part of his act, the performer obtained a
rare, agent-and-manager-less “booked” audition from the casting staff of the
stand-up comedy-based show, thereby avoiding having to wait in the hundreds-long
casting call line.
“A
comedian friend mentioned that NBC was looking for unique acts for the upcoming
season of Last Comic Standing and he
immediately thought of me,” said Pooch, a comedian who combines a distinct look,
props, song-and-dance, and audience participation with California culture-based
material. “So I submitted my signature,
fan-favorite ‘Phones’ bit to the show to demonstrate the kind of variety I offer
in my performances, and I’m looking forward to the live audition. Plus, not
having to wait in the line will offer me an opportunity to spend extra time
visiting the great city of New
York.”
Now in
its seventh season, Last Comic
Standing’s contestants are chosen from a vast pool of professional and
amateur comedians, some waiting in line for days for a chance to audition with
the show judges.
“Booked auditions typically
are acquired by a comic’s agent or manager so I feel extremely honored to have
been selected for a spot. I’m excited
about this prospect and will have a great time with the experience no matter
what the outcome.”
