2008) The unique, rising, California-born and -bred comedian
named Pooch is proud to announce today the release of a video clip from his stellar
debut show at the iconic Hollywood Improv comedy club. The performance can now be seen on www.poochcomedy.com and on his YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/pooch2k7.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2008, the positive, comedic
entertainer known worldwide as Pooch
took the stage for the first time ever
at the legendary Hollywood Improv comedy club and, with his arsenal of polished,
seasoned comedy techniques, filled the room with lively laughter and applause
from beginning to end.
“The
Hollywood Improv sits at the top of the comedy club industry and it was an
absolute pleasure to finally be asked to perform there,” said Pooch. “I knew I was in for an outstanding show when
Bret Ernst, a longtime comedian friend of mine and the night’s headliner, said
to me right before I went on, ‘Pooch,
this is your room.’”
A
featured act in rising show-producer Tim Mars’
Valley Nights show (which also
featured headliners Darren Carter and Ernst) Pooch absolutely nailed his performance by combining his unique
California Gangster Comedy persona and material with props, audience
participation and song-and-dance. He had
hilarious freestyle moments, including one which even made him laugh: Early in
his show, having already successfully commanded the stage with his unique personality,
Pooch was setting up the next bit
when his voice cracked with a high note.
Just as surprised as the audience and not knowing what to do, Pooch quickly dropped his voice to a
low baritone and continued on setting up the joke to the generous approval of the crowd. Pooch has included this humorous moment on the
newly released clip.
The complete, 11-minute performance will be a
cornerstone in the entertainer’s 2008 business and marketing plans, including
being part of the Pooch 2008 DVD, being
used to acquire club and college bookings across the country and be used as a
marketing tool to acquire entertainment industry representation.
