Mr. Cromwell Schubarth

Managing Editor

The San Jose Business Journal

Dear Mr. Schubarth,

As a native son of San Jose living in Hollywood but looking to shed my stand-up comedy show business aspirations and return home, today I saw my opportunity on the JournalismJobs.com website in your posting for an emerging technology reporter.  After more than 13 years working in Southern California as a publicist and journalist, it would be an absolute pleasure to return to the Bay Area and bring my journalistic talents and experience to The San Jose Business Journal.

Growing up with the advent of the personal computer and video games in Silicon Valley, I’ve always been a high-technology enthusiast, continually following the trends and industry players.  That led to spending many years working on public relations for high-technology and electronic-entertainment companies, including Nintendo of America, before switching sides of the fence and becoming an industry journalist.

At The San Jose Business Journal I would strive to specialize in the electronic-entertainment sector in spotting and covering emerging companies and trends from the technology beat.  Currently, I’m keeping my eye on companies in the MMOG (massively multiplayer online games) and mobile gaming sectors.

I am comfortable with both the online and print news cycles and, should the chance arise, I would heartily enjoy the occasional TV and radio interview as a representative of the publication.

Please accept the attached resume in consideration for the emerging technology reporter position.  Additionally, this here is a link to the section of my website where you can peruse selections from my journalism portfolio.  I was proud to return home to cover the 2000 Game Developers Conference in San Jose and Microsoft’s official foray into the hardware race.

I am excited at the opportunity which is available with The San Jose Business Journal and would like to follow up with you in a few days via email regarding this opportunity.  However, please feel free to write me at michael.puccini@sbcglobal.net, or call anytime at 818.505.1458 (home office) or 818.568.3082 (cell).

I truly look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Michael Arthur Puccini
