-bred comedian already known worldwide as Pooch announced that after more than 10 strenuous, metamorphic years of experience on the West Coast crafting and honing his stand-up comedy routine he is ready to go nationwide with his own truly unique brand of highly popular comedy aptly called West Coast California Gangster Comedy^© (WCCGC).

By changing his stage appearance from a street urchin to a GQ Italian style, Pooch’s recently created and entertaining WCCGC show has seemingly created a new subgenre of comedy – the likes from which comedy legends are born.  The multitalented comedic entertainer has created an intriguing, dynamic and intelligent persona which enables him to adapt to any audience.

“After honing my comedic skills for more than a decade in the Hollywoood comedy scene, I realized it was now time for me to evolve my show and  represent for the West Coast in a unique way,” said Pooch.  “All these years it was right in front of me.  I’m from California, I’m half-Italian half-Irish, both two prominent gangster iconographies*, and I grew up as part of the Hip-Hop generation.”

Pooch recently celebrated the completion of his self-produced industry-only DVD – the Pooch 2006 Demo disc, which is designed to generate awareness of and interest in his presence throughout the comedy industry and therefore to the general public.  An integral element of his Pooch 2K7 Comedy Outreach Campaign, the demo will be used to secure national comedy club and college shows, enter stand-up comedy competitions such as the 2007 HBO^® Comedy Festival (formerly U.S. Comedy Arts Festival), acquire work with the USO entertaining our American soldiers overseas and acquire professional comedy agency representation and management.

POOCH SUBMITS DVD TO HBO^® COMEDY FESTIVAL

(HOLLYWOOD, November 1, 2006)  The rising Italian-Irish, California-born and -bred comedian known worldwide as Pooch proudly announced today that he has submitted his recently completed, self-produced industry demo DVD to the HBO^® Comedy Festival (formerly the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival).  The timing of the submission coincides with the comedic entertainer’s Pooch 2K7 Comedy Outreach Campaign.  The festival, to be held in Aspen, Colorado, from February 28 through March 4, 2007, is a venerable hot spot for up-and-coming comedians such as Pooch.

“I’m thrilled to be sending my new DVD to the HBO Comedy Festival in order to be considered as one of the nation’s hottest new performers,” said Hollywood-based Pooch.   “After many years of honing my craft, it’s a great achievement for me to submit my work to HBO.  As I begin this new phase of my artistic career, even if I am not selected to showcase at the festival, at least now the producers know who I am and will be able to follow the ascension of West Coast California Gangster Comedy.  On the other hand, my hope is that HBO will realize the strength of my show and persona and decide to have me join their comedy roster.”

POOCH COMPLETES INDUSTRY DEMO DVD

(HOLLYWOOD, October 1, 2006)  In an effort to bring his West Coast California Gangster Comedy^© (WCCGC) show out of the Southern California underground comedy scene and onto the national stage, the rising comedian known worldwide as Pooch announced today he has completed the final edits of his first self-produced DVD – Pooch Demo 2006.  The showcase piece targeted to entertainment industry professionals and bookers will be used to garner work nationwide, acquire professional representation and management, for submissions to comedy competitions and to provide to USO comedy tour officials.

“It feels great to have finally finished my DVD,” said Pooch.  “With my home digital editing system, I now have the ability to take the hundreds of hours of performance video footage recorded over the past decade and digitize it all to produce my own DVD products.  My next planned production is a consumer-market DVD which will include a menu-options interface containing windows with video segments showcasing my freestyle abilities, classic material and the ‘My Name Is Pooch’ video.”

The 23-minute showcase beautifully combines clips which illustrate Pooch’s ability to add WCCGC flavor to all tools of the trade – audience participation, original material, props, song-and-dance – resulting in a positive, highly entertaining show.  The demo introduces Pooch’s new look, featuring a stylish, GQ appearance, and includes the first performance captured on tape highlighting Pooch’s freakishly naturally curly Irish-Italian hairdo.  The new look accentuates Pooch’s unique appearance and high-energy California-culture material.

“As a kid I was always teased about my curly hair.  When I first started doing comedy I hid my hair under baseball caps, then I had a period when I shaved it off completely, and then, when I first started doing WCCGC, I hid it under ski caps.  But now I’m proud of my full head of hair…even if I do look like Screech from Saved By TheBell.
